The Rotarian year began with the ceremonial handover on 4 August 2018 in the Masurian restaurant Potocki Gałkowo in an atmosphere of bygone times – with a visit to the salon of Countess Marion Dönhoff.
After the outgoing president Benjamin Schwägli presented the most important events of the club year 2017/2018, the service business was handed over to the new board of directors. It consists of:

The traditional club chain was ceremoniously handed over to Dariusz Bujniewicz, club president for the Rotary year 2018/2019.
Our club member Alex Heinelt was awarded the Paul Harris Sapphire Medal for his outstanding commitment to the club’s activities.
The new president has listed the topics he will focus on in the new club year:
– Continuation of existing club projects:
– Co-financing of a scholarship for a student at Viadrina University – together with RC Berlin Mickiewicz,
– Support for the Arche/ARKA project of Łukasz Podolski,
– together with RC Mettmann co-financing of the project “Joyo-Help me to start” to give children from Romania access to education,
– Organize a charity concert to raise funds for club service activities.
– Intensify club contacts with other Rotary clubs in Warsaw,
– Organization of a club trip to St. Petersburg.

School run, organized together with the Willi Brand School. Thanks to the participation of children and sponsors, more than PLN 19,000 was collected and donated through Rotary International for polio vaccinations. The money raised was enough to fund 14,412 vaccinations.

As part of the club’s commitment to the German-Polish Gardens project initiated by our club member Fried Nielsen, a meeting of club members took place in the Polish-German Gardens on the occasion of the opening of the first phase.

Our first charity concert with the Grupa MoCarta as a highlight, an auction of paintings and a party organised by our club members in the full cultural centre Świt (350 seats). The concert was held under the patronage of the German, Austrian and Swiss embassies and the Foundation for German-Polish Cooperation and enabled us to raise about PLN 40,000 for the club’s charity.
